I just took 3rd in the Gears of War 3 tourney at Best Buy. Me and my new live buddy took 2nd as a team.

Lookin pretty sick. Love those old Max Payne games and it looks like the series is gonna greatly benefit from the time off in the graphical department!
A picture’s worth a thousand words… well this picture explains what’s wrong with Madden. We always see these beautiful action packed stills. In them you can see the fluid accurate depiction of the human form and the evolution of collision detection in the game. The players have mass and feel solidly grounded in a physical world.
So why is that a problem?
You never see this screen shot when you’re playing the game! It’s only when you do an instant replay, zoom in, and freeze the frame. They need to implement the camera moving into the action somehow. Yeah I know many times it’s two doods in the same room playing a game together and you can’t favor one’s point of view over the other but that’s not my problem to figure out. Many people are playing the game online though or a single player franchise mode.
I’ve seen them do very little with the camera over the years and I walk away always feeling the same. I’m playing with little toy men on the field like some overhead strategy game. Disconnected!
